The Pillowman

This is some of the music I wrote while working on a student production of The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh. The play centers around a children’s author who only ever writes incredibly dark and disturbing stories. The purpose of these songs was to accompany the author’s monologues to the audience where he gets a chance to tell some of those stories. The different sections were cued live with the actor’s performance.

The Little Green Pig is a simple repeated A and B section that slow down as the character who is listening is lulled to sleep.

The Heart of Industry

This is a shifting score for a hypothetical horror game that takes place in a giant factory powered by a human heart. The player goes from the factory exterior to its core with a chase sequence in between.

Death of the Nature Machine

This was a craft experiment to blend synthesized and natural sounds. The ideas played with here eventually found their way into Discomfort Bubble, my undergraduate thesis.
